Safety
While it is common for people in distress to have thoughts and feelings of giving up or dying, services at Six Pines are currently limited to routine psychotherapy. This includes working with clients to discuss and understand issues such as suicidal thoughts and urges, as well as planning for safety or crisis needs.
Routine care does not include extensive in-session safety planning for clients in active crisis.
Crisis calls and after-hours services are not available through this practice.
If you feel you are likely to need in-session crisis care, after-hours care, or crisis services, this practice will not be a good fit for you.
For clients seeking psychotherapy for self-harm, the current standard of care is Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Resources covering the Triangle area of NC can be found here.
If you are currently in crisis: Please go to your local emergency room or call 911 for assistance.
If you or someone you know is at risk or has contemplated suicide, brief support is available at the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK or 988.
